Moonstone is composed of two feldspar minerals albite and orthoclase. As the mineral cools during growth, the minerals form two alternating layers. The optical adularescence phenomenon occurs when light falls between the thin layers of these two minerals, scattering it in many directions thus causing its shimmer or flash. Supporting the heart as it stimulates the mind, it soothes worry and anxiety.
